A man has smashed the skull of an 11-year-old Qur’anic school pupil popularly called almajiri and removed his brain in Kofar Wambai area of Bauchi Metropolis.
Residents of the area said a stranger called two pupils of the school and lured them to a corner where he carried out the atrocity.
One of the boys who escaped told residents what happened and when they rushed to the scene of the incident, they discovered the body of the pupil and alerted the police.
Bauchi State police spokesman, SP Muhammad Ahmad Wakil, said, “Police received a distress call from a Good Samaritan that an unknown person had used a stone and broke the skull of an almajiri.
“The two Quranic school pupils, Muhammed Yunusa (11) and Aminu Yusuf (12), were deceived by the unknown person who used that stone to break the skull of Yunusa.”
He assured that the police were making effort to arrest the strange man and bring him to justice.
