Ekiti State Police command has arrested a 26-year-old man, Oguntoyinbo Kolawole, in Ado-Ekiti, for allegedly stabbing his neighbour, Abioye Oluwaseun, to death.
It was gathered that the incident occurred on Thursday at Awedele area of Ado Ekiti while the deceased was trying to separate a fight between the suspect and his girlfriend.
It was learnt that the suspect stabbed the deceased with a sharp knife during a fight within the compound while he (deceased) was trying to separate the man and his girlfriend.
“The suspect had a disagreement with his girlfriend who was living with him over a certain amount of money and the suspect in his usual manner began to assault the lady.

“The neighbour who was not comfortable with the act intervened and made an attempt to condemn the suspect, but the situation led to a physical combat where the deceased was stabbed in his hand,” a witness said.
Information said the man was rushed to the hospital but he gave up the ghost because the knife had cut a sensitive vein connected to his heart.
When contacted, the Public Relations Officer in Ekiti State Police Command, DSP Sunday Abutu, said the suspect had been arrested for further investigation.
