Operatives of the Edo State Police Command have arrested a 21-year-old man, Ononomeh Badamasi, for allegedly killing a 52-year-old man for demanding payment of his money.
It was gathered that the incident happened in the Ogbeh community, Igara Akoko-Edo LGA of the state.
The command’s spokesperson, SP Chidi Nwabuzor, said the suspect was arrested by the Igarra police division following a complaint from the brother of the deceased, Obafemi Awolowo.
He said Awolowo reported to the police that the suspect bought a knife from the deceased and failed to pay the money and that the deceased demanded the money when the incident happened.

“The suspect and the deceased engaged in a fight over nonpayment of a knife he purchased from the deceased at Ogbeh community and in the process Orumidayo fell and died,’’ he added.
He said when the police came to the scene, it was discovered that three houses and one motorcycle had a;ready been set ablaze by angry youths.
Chidi said the suspect had been arrested and that he had confessed to the crime, adding that the corpse was taken to Igarra General Hospital Mortuary for autopsy.
