Man jailed 9 months for stealing chicks

A magistrates’ court in Ibadan, on Wednesday, sentenced a 23-year-old man, Dare Alamu, to nine months in prison for stealing chicks worth N380,000.

The Magistrate, Mrs Oluwabusayo Osho, sentenced Alamu after he pleaded guilty to the one-count charge of theft.

Earlier, the prosecutor, Insp Olalekan Adegbite, told the court that the defendant, a dismissed guard, on four occasions, from August to September, at the Akufo Farm Settlement, Ologuneru, Ido Road, Ibadan, stole 84 chicks worth N380,000, belonging to one Tolulope Ajiboye. (NAN)
