Gwani also sentenced the convict to one-year imprisonment for stealing, with an option of N20, 000 fine.

Gwani said the two sentences are to run concurrently.

Earlier, the prosecutor, Insp. Esther Bishen, told the court that one Sunday Biam of Afana reported the matter at the station on August 3.

Bishen said the defendant stole the complainant’s he-goat worth N60, 000.

He alleged that the defendant was a known criminal in the community.

When the charge was read to Joshua, he pleaded guilty and begged the court for leniency. (NAN)
