Man gets N.2m bail over N3m theft

A 31-year-old man, Temitayo Akinwumi, who was arraigned before an Ado-Ekiti magistrates’ court for stealing N3m, has been granted a N200,000 bail.

The Prosecutor, Insp Oriyomi Akinwale, told the court that the defendant and others at large committed the offence on September 20, 2021, around Secretariat Road in Ado-Ekiti.

Insp Akinwale said the defendant and others at large stole the sum of N3,000,000 belonging to one Mr Yusuf Wasiu.

However, the prosecutor asked the court for an adjournment to enable him study the case file and present witnesses.

The Chief Magistrate, Mr Michael Faola, granted bail to the defendant in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum and adjourned the case to December 7, 2022.
