Man gets 3-month sentence for possessing hemp, resisting arrest

 A Kano Sharia Court sitting in Kurna Quarters of Dala LGA of Kano State has sentenced a young man to three months’ bondage for possession of abused substances and resisting police arrest.

Hashimu Usman, according to the court ruling, would spend three months without the option of a fine at Kandahar Juma’at Mosque memorising two portions of the Glorious Qur’an.

He pleaded guilty to the charges of resisting arrest by the police after marijuana was found in his possession.
