A 29-year-old man, Segun Mafimidowo, has faked his abduction in connivance with his friends in order to get money from his parents.

Mafimidowo, who was one of the 42 suspects paraded by the Ogun State Police Command in Abeokuta, said he connived with his friends to demand N8m from his parents under the pretence that he had been kidnapped by gunmen in Sagamu area of the state.

The police spokesman in the state, Abimbola Oyeyemi, told newsmen that Mafimidowo also sent pictures where he was tied on both hands to his parents.
