A man, Otusanya Abayomi, has reportedly drowned while swimming in a river in Eyinwa community in Odogbolu LGA of Ogun State.

Our correspondent gathered that the case was reported at the Odogbolu Division on Saturday.

The police spokesman in the state, Omolola Odutola, said the late Abayomi, who hailed from Igbe Ilara, Ikorodu, Lagos State, came with his friend, Sunday Ogah, an Igede man from Benue State, to swim, and that the friend left him and others without notifying anyone. She further said, “Upon receipt of the information, the DPO of Odogbolu detailed surveillance police officers in collaboration with local divers to locate the corpse, but their efforts proved abortive.”

But that effort was ongoing to recover the corpse and reach out to the family.
