Man dies inside pit toilet in Kano

A 30-year-old man, Haruna Abdullahi, has died after been trapped inside a toilet suck away at Aku village in Gaya Local Government of Kano State.

The state’s fire service confirmed to City & Crime that the man entered the suck away with the intention to pick his cellphone that accidentally fell inside.

Spokesman of the fire service, Saminu Yusuf Abdullahi, said the man was rescued unconscious by their men but later died.

Abdullahi said, “We received an emergency call form Aku village and our men reached the area at 07:25am and found a man of about 30 years by name Haruna Abdullahi trapped a pit toilet. We learnt that he entered the toilet with the intention to recover his cellphone that fell inside.

“His brother, Adamu Danjimmai, who tried to rescue him, was also trapped.”

He further said their men rescued the two men but that Haruna was unconscious and later died in the hospital.
