A man whose identity is yet to be ascertained has reportedly died at Oredo Primary Health Centre in Oredo Local Government Area of Edo State after falling inside a soakaway.
It was gathered that the middle-aged man left the long queue for the registration for free medical exercise to urinate within the premises when he mistakenly stepped on a soakaway within the premises and slipped inside.

It was also learnt that there was no caution sign around the dilapidated soak away which has been covered with grasses.
The development, it was learnt caused panic among the health workers and in-patients who were helpless. It was further gathered that the victim was brought out dead from the soakaway with the aid of an excavator four hours later.
A visit to the Oredo Primary Health Centre revealed that the registration for free medical care that was temporarily suspended after the tragedy resumed on Wednesday morning.
A health worker who spoke to our reporter in confidence described the incident as unfortunate.
Meanwhile, the state Commissioner for Health, Prof. Akoria Obehi, could not be reached for comment, as her phone was not reachable.
