The Kwara State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has arrested a 30-year-old man, Yinka Balogun, for collecting a sum of N535,000 from his friend, Ibrahim Saliu, on the false pretence to collect an international passport and visa to Saudi Arabia for him.
The NSCDC spokesman in Kwara State, Babawale Zaid Afolabi, said the suspect issued a fake international passport to his friend who later reported the matter to the Anti-Crime and Theft Unit of the corps following suspicion.

He said the victim, Ibrahim Saliu, came to lodge a complaint at the command over the issue.
He said the suspect, who lives at the Apado area of Ilorin East Local Government Area, was later arrested by the operatives of the NSCDC.
“He confessed to have committed the crime, blaming it on the precarious situation of his finance,” Afolabi told Daily Trust last night.
He said the state commandant, Makinde Iskil Ayinla, had been briefed and the matter had been returned to the ACTU Unit of the NSCDC for full scale investigations after which the suspect would be charged to court.
