A 34-year-old man is currently in the Police custody for raping an eight-year-old girl in Otukpo Local Government Area of Benue State.
The suspect, Egbadekwu Onobu, was said to have defiled the child in his neighborhood in Otukpo town.

How rape ‘pandemic’ triggered calls for castration
Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for Benue Command, DSP Catherine Anene, confirmed the incident on Wednesday.
Anene did not give any details of the incident but admitted that the matter was reported to the police in Otukpo.
She added that the case had been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in Makurdi.
