Man cuts brother-in-law’s lip over illicit affair with wife

A 40-year-old security guard, Austin Ani, who allegedly accused his wife of having an illicit affair with her brother and who used a knife to cut the man’s lip, appeared before a Yaba Magistrates’ Court in Lagos, on Monday.

Ani, who resides at Bariga, Lagos, is facing a two-count charge of assault and causing grievous harm.

The Prosecutor, Sgt. Godwin Oriabure, said the defendant also beat up his wife around 07:00am on March 28 and then went to his brother-in-law’s residence on the same day and used a knife to cut his lip.

The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty. The Magistrate, Mrs. Oluwatoyin Ojuromi, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum.

The case was adjourned to April 30, for mention. (NAN)
