Man charged with wearing of police uniform

The police in Ekiti State have arraigned a 19-year-old man, Isah Hassan, before an Ado-Ekiti magistrates’ court over alleged unlawful wearing of police uniform.

The prosecutor, Inspector Olubunmi Apata, told the court that on May 31, at about 2pm in Ijan-Ekiti, the accused wore a police uniform unlawfully as spelt out in Section 90 of the Criminal Law of Ekiti State 2021.

Counsel to the defendant, Barr Olatunbosun Ajidara, urged the court to grant his client bail.

The Magistrate, P. T. Ajibade, granted a bail of N20,000 with one surety and adjourned the case to July 4.
