Man charged with fraud in Ekiti

The police have arraigned a 51-year-old man, Adeleye Temitope, before an Ado-Ekiti magistrates’ court over an alleged N90,000 fraud in Ekiti State.

The prosecutor, Inspector Sodiq Adeniyi, told the court that the defendant on December 5, 2023 at about 5pm in the Dallimore area of Ado-Ekiti received the sum of N90,000 from the complainant, Mr Bamidele Abraham, on the pretext to sublet a shop to him.

The defendant pleaded not guilty, and his counsel, Mr Tunmise Akinwumi, urged the court to grant him bail.

The Magistrate, Dolapo Babalogbon, granted bail to the defendant in the sum of N50,000 with one surety in like sum and  adjourned the case to February 29.
