A Kano Shari’ah Court sitting at Gama has sentenced one Isma’il Umar to two months in a correctional facility for finding him in possession of two different types of arms.
The suspect was caught and arrested by police operatives on duty patrol and subsequently charged him to court.
The suspect pleaded guilty to have committed the offense when the prosecutor, Aliyu Abidin Murtala read out the charges levelled against him.
However, he told the Court that he was going for a ceremony with the arms but not intended to disturb the peace of anybody while the prosecutor prayed the court to sentence him based on his utterances.
The Judge, Mallam Nura Yusuf Ahmed therefore sentenced him to serve two months in a correctional facility without the option of paying any fine.
