Man begins 1,200km bicycle ride from Yobe to Delta

Samuel Erukoghene Okoro, a resident of Yobe State, has embarked on a journey of 1,200 kilometres on a bicycle from Damaturu to Asaba, Delta State.

Mr Okoro, a father of two, who hails from Delta State, has lived in Yobe State for more than eight years.

Speaking to City & Crime, he said his vision to ride a bicycle from Yobe to Delta was meant to honour Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta who was passionate about the development of the state.

He said the citizens of the South South based in Yobe State had given him a letter to be delivered to the governor on arrival.

He explained that before he embarked on the journey he went for a medical checkup in the Yobe State Teaching Hospital, Damaturu, where all the necessary tests were carried out.

He disclosed that the security agencies had advised him to follow Jos, Plateau State, due to the security challenges from Damaturu to Kano State.

He added that he expected the journey would take him a minimum of 10 days and a maximum of 12 days.
