Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Yobe State, led by CSN Dabis Bambis, have rearrested one Abubakar Usman with 6.8kg of dried weeds suspected to be hemp.
The arrest comes after he escaped from their custody in 2022.
The Command’s Principal Staff Officer, Media and Advocacy, Ramatu SB, confirmed this to newsmen in Damaturu, the state capital.
She said the 30-year-old suspect was apprehended at Sabon Gari village in Fune LGA of Yobe State.

According to her, upon his arrest, Usman was found to have approximately 6.8kg of dried weeds suspected to be cannabis.
She said the seizure was a major blow to the illicit drug trade in the state and highlighted the commitment of the NDLEA to eradicating drug-related activities.
