The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a 35-year-old man, Sadiq Isiaka, for his alleged involvement in the abduction of a 15-year-old girl.
Sadiq was also accused of allegedly having illicit canal knowledge of the victim.
The police said Sadiq abducted the victim and took her to his house at Oko Baba Street off Abeokuta Street in Ebute Metta, Lagos.
They said the suspect was arrested after the parents of the girl reported the disappearance of their daughter.

He was transferred to the Gender Section of the Lagos State Police Command for interrogation.
During interrogation, the suspect admitted to having slept with the girl but without any use of force against her.
When he was arraigned, the court did not take his plea following a motion moved by the prosecutor, Inspector Lucky Ihiehie, asking it to refer the matter to the DPP.
The presiding magistrate, Mrs O. A. Layinka, ordered the defendant to be remanded in custody pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice.
The matter was adjourned to February 4, 2023.
