Bauchi State Police Command said it has arrested a 25-year-old man, Anas Auwal over the alleged kidnap and gruesome murder of a five-year-old, Abba Yahuza in Tsangaya village, Ningi Local Government of Area of the state.
The command’s spokesman, SP Ahmed Wakil who disclosed this yesterday, said preliminary investigation revealed that on October 11, the suspect lured the victim into his room with sweets and later, called the victim’s father on phone and threatened him to bring the sum of N5 million as ransom.

Wakil explained that the suspect later came to realize that the victim knew him and that his identity would be revealed if he released him, adding that “the suspect decided to hack the victim to death in his room and waited until nighttime, bundled the victim in a sack and buried the body in a shallow grave.”
Wakil noted that the suspect has confessed to the crime and that the commissioner of police in the state, CP Umar Mamman Sanda has directed that the suspect be charged to court for prosecution.
