Officials of the Lagos State Neighbourhood and Security Corp (LNSC) have apprehended a 46-year-old man, Friday Nwafor, for allegedly vandalising safety handrailing and streetlights on Third Mainland Bridge.
The suspect, along with some others still at large, was said to have removed the newly fixed handrailing and sola streetlights during the recent rehabilitation work carried out by the government.
City & Crime gathered that the suspect was arrested on Tuesday night. It was also gathered that officials of LNSC are now after other fleeing members of the gang and their buyers.
LNSC on its official X handle on Thursday said, while its officials were on patrol of the bridge, ran into the suspect who had already removed the street light installed on the bridge.

“On Tuesday, May 8, 2024, officers of the Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Corps (LNSC) apprehended a road infrastructure vandal who was vandalizing the newly constructed 3rd Mainland Bridge Road light indicators.
“The suspect was identified as Mr. Friday Nwafor, a 46-year-old male resident of Lagos who was immediately taken into our custody and handed over to the Commissioner of Police, Lagos Command, Mr. Adegoke Fayoade,” it said.
