The Oyo State Police Command on Tuesday paraded a 40-year-old man, Mutiu Idowu, for killing his neighbour, Olusegun Rufus, who loaned him some money.
The spokesman of the command, Adewale Osifeso, said the suspect confessed that he killed his benefactor in order not to repay the loan.

He said after killing the 70-year-old victim, the suspect took the vehicle he used as collateral for the loan and fled.
Osifeso said, “One Adesope Adeolu reported at Eleyele Divisional Police Headquarters that on same date at about 0900hrs he noticed that his neighbour’s entrance door was open; which was unusual.
“On further enquiry, he found his neighbour, one Olusegun Rufus, dead in the living room in the pool of his blood. He stated further that he suspected that the Rufus might have been murdered.
“Based on investigation and credible intelligence, one Mutiu Idowu was arrested and confessed to have killed the Rufus in order not to pay the money he loaned from him. The vehicle that he used as collateral for the loan which he stole after the murder of Rufus has also been recovered.”
