Australian police didn’t see the funny side when they caught a man using a frying pan as the steering wheel for his car.
The man faces various driving and vehicle charges after police arrested him in central Adelaide yesterday.
Police reportedly went to follow up claims a man was loitering in the area, Yahoo 7 News reports.
When they arrived the man drove off in a Mazda and when officers caught up with him they discovered his steering wheel had been replaced with a frying pan, and his number plate had been changed.
The car was also unregistered, uninsured and defected, according to the report.
The 32-year-old has been charged with driving an unregistered, uninsured vehicle and driving contrary to defect, as well as altering a number plate and breaching bail.
He was refused bail and was scheduled to appear in Adelaide Magistrates Court yesterday.
The car was reportedly impounded for 28 days.
