The police in Edo State have arrested a suspect identified as Monday for allegedly attacking policemen on patrol with a gun in Benin City.
The Police Commissioner, Funsho Adegboye, said operatives of Ugbekun Division, while on a township patrol along Nomayo, Upper Sakponba Road, Benin City, were attacked with a gun by hoodlums and that in the process one of the hoodlums, Monday, was hit by a bullet, arrested and taken to the hospital where he made a statement that himself, Francis Timothy and two others attacked the officers.

He said one locally made pistol with two live cartridges were recovered from the suspect.
