Man arrested for allegedly stealing electric cable in Osogbo

The Osun state police command has arrested a 32-year-old man, Ayomide David Popoola, for allegedly burgling into an uncompleted four-bedroom flat at Plot 1, Block 13, Osun GRA, Gbongan Road, Osogbo where he allegedly stole an electric cable.

 The owner of the house, Mr Akintola Adebisi Raifu, reported to the police about the suspicious movement of the suspect around the property and policemen were deployed to the scene immediately.

 According to the police, the suspect was caught removing the newly installed electric cables in the building.

 He was arrested and one of the bags containing some of the looted electric cables was recovered from him while other members of the gang escaped, the police alleged.

 The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Yemisi Opalola, said efforts were on to apprehend the rest of the syndicate, while the suspect would be charged to court after the investigation.
