A 53-year-old man, Ayeni Olusegun, has been arraigned before an Ado-Ekiti magistrates’ court over alleged stealing of a car battery.
The prosecutor, Inspector Akinwale Oriyomi, told the court that the defendant on March 6 at about 1030 hours on Iyin Road in Ado-Ekiti, stole a car battery valued at N28,000 and four litres of fuel valued at N4,000 belonging to one Festus Afe.
Counsel to the defendant, Mr Emmanuel Sumonu, urged the court to grant his client bail.

The Magistrate, Mr Bankole Oluwasanmi, granted bail to the defendant in the sum of N60,000 with one surety in like sum and adjourned the case to May 5.
