A 27-year-old-man, Peter Hassan, has been arraigned before a magistrates’ court in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State, for stealing 118 bags of cement and iron rods.
The prosecutor, Inspector Caleb Leramo, told the court that the suspect stole 118 bags of cement worth N472,000; 12 iron rods worth N420,000 and eight pieces of Y16 iron worth N64,000, property of one Ayodele Abe.
Counsel to the defendant, Olawumi Omolafe, urged the court to grant him bail in liberal terms, promising that he would not jump bail.
The Magistrate, Mr Saka Afunso, granted bail of N50,000 to the defendant with one surety in like sum and adjourned the case to February 21.
