A 40-year-old man, Taiwo Ajayi, was yesterday arraigned before the Ogba magistrate court in Lagos for allegedly defiling his seven-year-old daughter, Maria.
Ajayi, who resides at No 20, Bankole Araba Street, Mushin, was arraigned over a two-count charge of assault and defilement he was alleged to have committed sometime in 2018 at Ikotun, Lagos.
The prosecutor, Christopher John, told the court that the accused “indecently” assaulted Maria “times without number.”

Ajayi, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The presiding magistrate, Mr P.E. Nwaka, remanded him in prison and adjourned the case till November 11, 2018 for advice from the office of the Director of Public Prosecution.
