Man arraigned for stealing wife’s N40,000

A 42-year-old teacher, Olatunji Akande, was on Thursday arraigned before an Okitipupa magistrates’ court in Ondo State for stealing N40,000 belonging to his wife, Sarah.

The police charged Akande, whose address was not given, with felony, assault and theft.

The prosecutor, ASP Zedekiah Orogbemi, told the court that the defendant on September 16, around 7pm at Ayeka New Site, Okitipupa, assaulted his wife by wielding a big stick on her following an argument and that he also stole N40,000 cash belonging to her.

The Magistrate, Mr Chris Ojuola, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N50,000 and one surety in like sum and adjourned to October 17. (NAN)
