A man, Seun Odupitan (36), was on Monday brought before an Ikeja magistrates’ court, Lagos, for stealing a pair of shoes and a rechargeable lantern.
The prosecutor, Insp Ajayi Emmanuel, told the court that the defendant committed the offence around 1am on October 31, at the Ikorodu area Lagos.

Emmanuel said that Odupitan stole a pair of shoes worth N18,000 and a rechargeable lantern worth N15,000, property of one James Oluwadamilare.
The prosecutor further told the court that the defendant was caught in possession of a police camouflage uniform and could not give a satisfactory account of how he came about it.
The Magistrate, Mrs O. I. Raji, ordered the remand of the accused and adjourned to November 18.
