Man arraigned for removing bones from corpse in Oyo

The police in Ibadan, Oyo State, on Wednesday, arraigned a man, Sulaiman Ikudaisi (37), in a magistrates’ court for allegedly tampering with a corpse by removing bones from it.

The prosecutor, Insp Toyin Ibrahim, told the court that the defendant on May 11, at about 3pm at the Muslim Cemetery, Ibadan, removed some bones from a corpse in contravention of Section 242(1)(b) of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State 2000. The Magistrate, Mrs Kausarat Ayofe, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum and adjourned the case July 16. (NAN)
