Man arraigned for embezzling customer’s fund in Kwara

A suspect, David Adedeji, has been arraigned before an area court in Center-Igboro, Ilorin for criminal breach of trust, cheating and criminal misappropriation.

The complainant, one Morenike Samuel, an area resource person, told the court that the defendant who was one of his staff, mismanaged a sum of N552,900.

Samuel said the defendant got the money through payment of services rendered by different customers of the organisation, but failed to remit the money to the company.

She said the defendant confessed to the allegation when confronted by the company, pleading that he would pay the said amount when he had the means.

The complainant thereby urged the court to assist in getting the money back from the defendant.

But the defendant (Adedeji) pleaded not guilty to the allegations in court.

The presiding judge, AbdulQadir Umar, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N50,000 with a reliable surety in like sum.
