Man arraigned for attacking AEDC officials

A man, Bernard Abah 44, was on Thursday arraigned in an area court at Karu in Abuja for attacking officials of the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC).

The prosecutor, Mr Ade Adeyanju, told the court that Friday Polycarp, an ad hoc staff with AEDC in Karu, and other AEDC officials on October 26, went into a compound near the National Park Quarters, Karu, to carry out their duty.

He said the defendant came and attacked them with a cutlass and threatened to cut off their legs and that in the process of argument, the defendant carried the complainant out of the compound and pushed him with all his power thereby causing internal pains on him.

The prosecutor said that during the investigation, the defendant confessed to the crime but pleaded not guilty to the charge.
