Operatives of the So-Safe Corps have arrested a 27-year-old man, Fatai Sholola, for allegedly stealing a car belonging to his sister’s husband and selling it for N230,000 in the Sango area in Ado-Odo/Ota LGA.
The corps’ spokesman, Moruf Yusuf, who confirmed the arrest, explained that while officers of the corps were on routine patrol around Sango Plaza on Friday they had accosted the suspect around 2am “for wearing a suspicious look and not feeling comfortable immediately he sighted the officers.”
He quoted the state’s Commander of the So-Safe Corps, Soji Ganzallo, as saying that, “The patrol team searched the bag he was holding and car documents were found in his possession, but he could not explain why he had the documents with him.
“He (Sholola) resorted to bribing the officers with the sum of N30,000, but the officers rejected the image-denting offer.
