Man accused of killing fiancée in Kano

The police in Kano State have arraigned a man, Abubakar Kurna, in a magistrates’ court sitting at Nomansland in Fagge LGA over the alleged murder of his fiancée, Naja’atu Ahmad.

The magistrate, Huda Haruna, ordered his remand in a correctional centre till November 21, as the court lacked jurisdiction to entertain the case.

In another case, a magistrates’ court sentenced two men to six years in prison each over illegal possession and sale of arms.

Magistrate Hajara Shafi’u Hamza jailed them for stealing and selling an A-K47 rifle.

The convicts, Murray Modelo and Ejike Igwe, were, however, given an option of N50,000 fine on each of the three count charges of conspiracy to commit crime, illegal possession and sale of a weapon.
