Man abducts woman, impregnates her in Abaji

A man, simply identified as Ahmadu, has been arrested for allegedly abducting and impregnating a 20-year-old woman in Abaji, Abuja.
A police source, who preferred anonymity, told our reporter, yesterday, that  the suspect was arrested on Saturday at Unguwar Abattoir area of the town.
He said that the woman was alleged to have disappeared for more than a month and her family  members were unable to locate her whereabouts until some people later saw her in the suspect’s room.
He said that the police were informed and they came and arrested the suspect.
“Members of the woman’s family searched for her for almost a month without success,” he said. “Until when the police got the information of her abduction from a neighbour in the area and arrested the suspect.”
He alleged that the woman was discovered pregnant for the suspect when the police arrested him.
When contacted, the Abaji Divisional Police Officer (DPO), CSP David Kolo, confirmed the incident, saying that the suspect would be charged to court after investigation had been concluded.
