Bauchi State Police Command has arrested 60-year-old Muhammed Dahiru for ‘raping’ a 5-year-old girl in Nahuta village, Toro Local Government Area of the state.
The command’s spokesman, DSP Ahmed Mohammed Wakili, who disclosed this on Tuesday in a statement, said Dahiru lured the victim to his uncompleted building where he forcefully raped her and threatened to kill her if she disclosed his identity.

“The parents discovered that the victim sustained a virginal injury and was bleeding,” the statement said.
The statement reads, “On 20/09/2020, one Auwalu Isah of Nahuta village Toro LGA came to the Police Station and reported that on 19/09/2020, one Muhammed Dahiru aged 60 years of same address lured his five years daughter (name withheld) into an uncompleted building in the same address owned by the suspect and forcefully had carnal knowledge of her. He thereafter threatened to slaughter her if she disclosed his identity.”
“However, Muhammed Dahiru, in connivance with Area Court in Nahuta, served the victim’s father a court summons for defamation of character on Saturday 19/09/2020.
“Upon receipt of the complaint, a team of detectives was drafted to the scene and the victim was taken to General Hospital Toro for medical care, while the suspect was arrested.
“Investigation is ongoing after which the suspect will be charged to court for prosecution,” it said.
