A chief magistrate court sitting in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State, has ordered the remand of a man, Adeyemi Adeyinka, 48, in prison over attempted murder in a land-grabbing matter at Ogo Oluwa and Goshen communities in Ajebandele, Ado-Ekiti.
Adeyinka and two other persons, 43-year-old Owolabi Ajayi and 49-year-old Bamidele Francis, were arraigned for allegedly attempting to kill Oladejo Kehinde, Bolarinwa Adekunle, Mrs Adeyanju Esther and Akinwale Isaac by inflicting serious machete cuts on their bodies.
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Ekiti State, had arraigned the three men on a nine-count charge bordering on conspiracy and attempt to commit murder, but the court granted Ajayi and Francis bail in the sum of N250,000 each, with two sureties.
The chief magistrate, Mr Abdulhamid Lawal, adjourned the case till October 5, 2020 for hearing.
Lawal, however, ordered the remand of Adeyinka at the Ado-Ekiti Correctional Centre, Aafo road.
