John Adama, 44, of Dutse Baupma Extension, Bwari Area Council, Abuja has been hospitalised at Federal Medical Centre Jabi for complications of a brain tumour.
According to his wife, Ladi Adama, her husband started developing complications all of a sudden on December 4, and since then he couldn’t regain his vision from one of his eyes.
She said, “Around midnight on that fateful day, he started calling me that he couldn’t see well with one of his eyes and I should come and help him.
“He complained of a severe headache despite never being diagnosed with BP. We couldn’t sleep throughout the night, despite visiting a nearby clinic.

“In the morning we went to Bwari Hospital and despite several medications, the pain refused to subside. He lost sight from one of the eyes already.
“We were referred to DSS Medical Centre at Airport Road to see a neurologist who asked us to do an MRI scan.
“The result showed that there’s a growth/tumour in the brain which led to losing sight as it affected the nerves in the brain.
“So, we were asked to come and see a neurosurgeon at Federal Medical Centre, Jabi for immediate surgery in order to rescue his sight before he loses both eyes.
“The doctor told us that the surgery to remove the tumour will cost N2.5m for the operation and the medications,” she added.
According to her, John, a private photographer, and father of four children, couldn’t pay off the said medical bills of N2.5m for the surgery hence resorting to the general public for any kind of help.
She said the family had already been exhausted from the series of tastes carried out on the husband even before he was admitted at the Medical Centre Jabi.
