Man, 31, accused of defiling 2-year-old daughter

A 31-year-old father, Daniel Joseph, residing at Gonin-Gora, a community in Chikun local government area of Kaduna State, has been handed over to the Police for allegedly having carnal knowledge of his two-year old daughter.
Daily Trust gathered that Joseph’s neighbours reported the case to the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development which took it to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
The infant who was said to have lost her mother, had been examined by a doctor by the weekend. The result of the examination had not been made known but a source disclosed that the doctor confirmed that the little girl had been penetrated and had developed serious infection.
The Kaduna State Police spokesperson, DSP Zubairu Abubakar confirmed the case, disclosing that the accused had been in detention since Friday. “The accused denied the allegation, but the minor has been taken to the hospital for examination by the Ministry. We are also going to conduct another medical examination on her for confirmation before we charge the accused to court,” he said.
