Man, 25, charged over theft of N2m electric wire in Ekiti

The Ekiti State police command has arraigned one Musa Habeeh, 25, at the Chief Magistrate Court sitting in Ado-Ekiti over alleged theft of electric wire.

The police prosecutor, Inspector Bamikole Olasunkanmi, told the court that on November 12 at about 11:35pm at Ifaki Magisterial District, the suspect stole the electric wire valued at N2 million, property of one Omotoso Francis.

Olasunkanmi said the offence is punishable under Section 302(1)(a) of the Criminal Law of Ekiti State 2021.

Counsel to the defendants, Barrister Oluwafemi Alabi, urged the court to admit his client to bail, saying he would not jump bail.

The magistrate, Abayomi Adeosun, granted bail of N200,000 with surety in sum and verifiable addresses and adjourned the case to December 12.
