A 20-year-old man, identified only as Amafè, has allegedly defiled a 2-year-old girl in Edo State.
It was gathered that the incident happened in Oza community, Orhionmwon LGA of the state.
The suspect, who is said to be a relative of the victim, allegedly lured the minor into the bush while her grandmother was working on the farm and defiled her.
It was learnt that some passersby who heard the child’s cries reported the incident to the victim’s grandmother, who was not aware that the minor was taken into the bush.
The victim, it was gathered, was living with her grandmother in the community as her parents had separated.

“The grandmother took her to the farm, and while she was working, the man went to where the grandmother kept her and lured the little girl to a place where he defiled her,” the source said.
The source said vigilante operatives in the area later arrested the suspect and handed him over to the police at the Divisional Headquarters in Abudu.
A police officer at the Abudu division, who craved anonymity, confirmed the incident to our reporter.
He said the matter would be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for prosecution.
