A 19-year-old man, Emmanuel Daniel, has been arraigned at an Ado-Ekiti chief magistrate court for allegedly stealing a cell phone.
The police prosecutor, Inspector Monica Ikebuilo, informed the court on Wednesday that Daniel and others at large committed the offence on June 24, 2020 at about 5pm at Erinfun Quarters, Poly Road, Odo-Ado, Ado-Ekiti.
Ikebuilo alleged that the defendant and others at large stole one Techno phone valued at N42,000 and a cash sum of N10,000, property of Ajibade Adebukola.
The prosecutor urged the court to adjourn the case to enable her study the file and assemble her witnesses.
Daniel pleaded not guilty and his counsel, Mr Kehinde Ogunmodede, urged the court to grant him bail, with a promise that he would not jump it.
The chief magistrate, Mrs Adefunmike Anoma, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N20,000, with one surety in like sum, and adjourned the case till September 22, 2020 for hearing.
