“Mama Boko Haram” gets N30m bail in N62m fraud case

A high court in Maiduguri has granted bail to Aisha Wakil, popularly known as “Mama Boko Haram”, as she is self-acclaimed, and three others in a case involving allegations they defrauded two companies of N62 million.

Justice Aisha Kumalia granted a N30 million bail and warned that failure of accused persons to appear in court would lead to the bail being revoked.

The Economic Financial and Crime Commission arraigned the accused persons on counts charge including cheating, dishonesty, inducement and intent to defraud.

The accused persons include the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Complete Care and Aid Foundation CCAF, Barr. Aisha Wakil, Country Manager CCAF, Prince Lawal Shoyede, Programme Manager Tahiru Saidu Daura and current Programme Manager Kassim Musa Maiduguri.
