Jos flagship side Malcomines has reaffirmed its supremacy with a sixth back -to- back Governors Cup victory and the inaugural Keystone Cup.
Pitching a record 33 team,s the richest field in recent history of the annual festival yet, Murtala Laushi who hosted his first Jos tournament as the President, and his Malcomines powered through a strong field of tough oppositions to retain the event’s biggest prize, reaffirming its supremacy as the Kings of Jos polo.
Polo Royals report that Malcomines eased past Abuja Lintex in their opening game, before rounding up their champagne campaign with a crunchy 6-41/2 winners against the tough fighting Kaduna Keffi Ponys in the final game, emerging the biggest winners.
That victory guaranteed Malcomines a place in history as the first ever winners of the inaugural Keystone Bank Cup and the first Jos based team with the longest winning run in the Governor’s Cup series.
Until recently when Murtala Laushi joined the club, the noble game of polo did not resonate with the people of Jos.
