The Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, has dismissed a report in one of the national dailies that his posters vying for the governorship position of Kebbi State have flooded the state.
He said the report is untrue and unfounded.
The Minister, who spoke through his media aide, Dr. Umar Jibirilu Gwandu, in Birnin Kebbi, called on the general public to disregard the report as the story did not have an iota of truth in it.

He appealed to journalists to always cross check their facts before going to press.
“Our attention has been drawn to a fictitious and mischievous report by one newspaper claiming that they have seen or the paper is reported to have gathered from market women or traders that there were posters of the Honourable Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, vying for the office of governorship in 2023, in every part of Birnin Kebbi and in other part of the Kebbi State.
“We have gone round the entire Birnin Kebbi and we have not seen any of such posters.
“Therefore, we want the general public to discredit and disregard the information.
“What we are saying, there is no posters of the Minister in Birnin Kebbi.
“Whoever has interest in him in contesting for any position, I think there is rule and guidelines, which you have to abide by as far as electioneering is concern because it is not yet time for any form of campaign,” he stated.
