The Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, has presented N294billion budget to the Oyo State House of Assembly for 2022 with infrastructure receiving the lion’s share.
Makinde, while presenting the budget, tagged, “A Budget of Growth and Opportunity,” said the highest allocation of N96bn, representing 32.83 per cent, would go for infrastructure while N54bn. representing 18.37 per cent would go into education.

Makinde said his government would continue to maintain its tradition of keeping the education allocation above United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) standards.
According to the governor, his government has been able to achieve 60percent of the 2021 budget, adding that his target is to achieve 15 per cent more of the total budget before the end of the year.
Makinde revealed that his total budget for healthcare stood at N17bn, which is about 5.9 per cent of the total budget.
