Members of the Muslim communities in Ebonyi State have asked Governor David Umahi to make himself available for greater national service in 2023.
The leader of the group, Alhaji Abass Egwu, said this when he led Muslim faithful to Government House, Abakiliki, for this year’s Eid-el-fitr homage.

Egwu, who also read a five-paragraph resolution, said the decision was unanimously reached and signed by over 100 Muslim stakeholders resident in the state.
He said the group has also resolved to assist the state government in arresting insecurity and to protect public infrastructure.
“We shall report to the state government any group of people who tries to destroy any of the infrastructure put in place by your administration.
“And that we appreciate your excellency for your foresightedness in leadership hence we admire and also support your party APC.
“We plead with you your excellency that come 2023 himself available for national service in 2023 Shaa-Allah. If you have a good son there is no need to convass for him, a good market sells itself. Your excellency you are a good market and we will not let you down,” he stated.
Responding, the state governor who was represented by the deputy governor, Dr. Kelechi Igwe, said that state is committed towards the protection of lives and properties.
On the issue of Egedegede killings, he said that state is still on top of the situation in apprehending the actors of the dreaded act.
