Trade experts under the aegis of the Nigeria-Malaysia Business Council have advised the Federal Government to sustain trade relationship with Malaysia while also increasing investments in the mining and agribusiness sectors.
The council, through its President. Michael Aderohunmu, made the call at the event: Nigeria Open for Business, which was also supported by the Malaysia External Trade and Development Corporation (MATRADE).
In a statement made available to Daily Trust in Lagos, the council’s president noted that it had become imperative for Nigeria to articulate the priority area as formulated in Government Economic Recovery and Growth Plan (ERGP).
“This was the concluded agreement in Nigeria open for business trade, discussions focused on flow of trade and investment between Nigeria and Malaysia.
“We want trade relationship between Nigeria and Malaysia to continue to grow because Malaysia is one of the world top trading nations. We asked Minister of the Primary Industry, some industry leaders and Directors of MDAs in Malaysia about their thoughts on trade and investment as a game changer in agricultural and mining sector,’’ Aderohunmu said.
